Job purpose
Maintain, repair, and improve facilities and equipment. Support preventative maintenance program, down time reduction, energy consumption and compliance calendar. Obtain quotes for goods and services as needed to complete repairs, maintenance, or improvement projects. Duties may fall into a variety of trades, including carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, landscaping, energy management, HVAC, fire and life safety and keys/security systems.
Duties and responsibilities

- Work independently with minimal supervision to complete assigned maintenance, continuous improvement, and Capital Budget tasks/projects, update lists/project management tools, and effectively communicate status updates to all stakeholders.
- Responsible for maintenance of equipment and machinery by following the recommended maintenance schedule through the life of the equipment.
- Execute repair and maintenance of facilities and equipment in the most efficient method focusing on safety, quality, and costs.
- Perform risk mitigation, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and develop training for optimal equipment operation.
- Operate equipment, such as a scissor lift, order picker, or extension ladder, to work at heights up to 30'.
- Proactively seek/work on continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage inventory records for tools, equipment, and spare parts.
- Assist with performing duties in compliance calendar, including but not limited to audits of emergency exit lighting, lifting straps, harnesses, backflow prevention, fire riser, fire extinguishers, hazardous/general waste disposal, eyewash stations, etc.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role
- Physically capable and available to work overtime including weekends, public holidays, and evenings
- Effective problem-solving skills
- Ability to operate scissor lift, sit down forklift, standup reach truck, and order picker
- Proficient knowledge of PLCs and HMIs
- Solid understanding of mechanical and electrical systems
- Hands-on maintenance skills including carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, landscaping, energy management, and HVAC
- Previous experience in Hazardous Waste Management preferred but not required
- Certificate in building maintenance technology or relevant field is preferred
Working conditions
This position operates in a professional, temperature controlled, warehouse setting that is clean and well lit. This job will require work in an office setting, manufacturing floor and outside of the facility. Employee will have their own workstation, office or cubical space and are equipped basic office equipment including a desk, chair, telephone, headset, and computer, etc. Occasional travel may be required for supplier visits as well as an extended or flexible work schedule over the traditional 8 to 5 workdays.
