Job Summary:
As an Industrial Technician, you would be responsible for the maintenance and repair of various mechanical, electrical, and conveying processing systems/types of industrial machines and supporting equipment. Will perform preventative and predictive maintenance. Will perform periodic testing, inspections, troubleshooting and repairs. Perform all jobs safely, efficiently, and effectively. This position supports the daily achievement of production goals through ensuring the proper functionality of our machines.
$24-34/hr
Essential Job Functions:
- Under general supervision, repair and perform basic maintenance on industrial machinery (i.e., automation, mechanical, electrical, conveying systems, etc.) using manufactures recommendations and company SOPs to ensure equipment is performing safely and to required specifications
- Identify root cause of basic mechanical and electrical issues and performs essential repairs that may include welding, fabricating parts, plumbing, or replacing defective components. Works with appropriate personnel and management if further attention is required to resolve the issue
- Diagnose and conduct overall conveyor maintenance on schedule as required
- Perform preventive maintenance on schedule for processing machines and supporting equipment
- Assemble, install, test, and maintain basic electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures
- Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, and other components
- Troubleshooting and replace or repair drive chains, gears, belts, pullies, shafts, rollers, electric motors, and gear boxes
- Responsible for maintaining tools, keeping them clean and in good working condition. Keep work area organized, clean and free to move in
- Works in a safe manner to protect themselves and co-workers
- Identify unsafe conditions and corrects. Work with management to resolve safety concerns
- When working in processing follows all compliance, food safety, and biosecurity rules, policies, and procedures. Reports any violations to a supervisor
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Prefer additional trade or technical school education for maintenance, mechanical, welding, HVAC, or electrical
- Knowledge of electrical, electrical testing devices, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Prefer 2+ years of experience in industrial, commercial, or facility systems maintenance
- Maintenance experience in the food, poultry or agriculture industry not required but is a plus
- Reading and comprehension skills necessary to read, understand and follow SOP’s and other written instructions or work details
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with co-workers and management.
- Sound work ethic, honesty, team oriented and moral character
- Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with safety/equipment such as LOTO, harnesses, lanyards, hoists, and PPE a plus
- Ability to work overtime, weekends and holiday hours as required based on the production demand
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull 75+lbs
- Expect walking, climbing (ladders and stairs), standing, and sitting for long periods of time, and able to work in tight spaces
