Job Description:
Insight Global is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician for one of our chemical manufacturing clients in Havre de Grace, MD. The role begins each day with a safety meeting, followed by addressing scheduled work orders provided by the onsite foreman. This location specifically produces adhesives through various processes involving multiple pieces of machinery that the Technician will be responsible for. The primary focus will be on maintenance tasks, including but not limited to: fabricating old piping, repairing different types of machinery, installing or repairing HVAC systems, Troubleshooting PLC’s and maintaining mechanical equipment. The equipment includes pumps, fans, cooling towers, piping & brazing, air compressors, and more. The candidate will start on the first shift for 3 weeks minimum training period and then transition to either the 2nd shift (2:30-10:30 pm) or 3rd shift (10:30 pm-6:30 am). The successful candidate will perform routine maintenance work according to standard methods and procedures, as well as non-routine maintenance work with varying degrees of supervision. Most of the work will be reactive maintenance, with a small portion dedicated to proactive maintenance projects. The candidate must have 4+ years of experience in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical equipment, basic electrical skills, and broad knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic machinery. They must also be able to evaluate and report unusual situations to supervision and take responsibility for company tools, equipment, and materials.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 4+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
- 4+ years of experience in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical equipment, with basic electrical skills.
- Broad knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic machinery, including some understanding of their controls, critical instrumentation, and electricity.
- Associate’s Degree, applicable trade school certification, or honorable military discharge.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced certification or license in a skilled trades area.
- Experience working with HVAC systems.
- Experience troubleshooting PLCs.
- Fabrication experience.
