Industrial Maintenance Technician - AmeriLux International, LLC

Job duties range widely for the role of Maintenance Technician at Amerilux but the core is maintaining uptime on a variety of equipment for the production teams and driving growth through our four key metrics: Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost. The right individual is well rounded, loves to learn and focused on eliminating problems rather than correcting problems with temporary solutions.

Hours: We are a day shift facility with a limited crew on night and weekend shift. This position is Monday-Friday day shift (8 hours) with opportunity for overtime and on-call with incentive.

Job Duties:

• Troubleshoot/repair/maintain various equipment.
  • Examples of the type of equipment you will encounter at Amerilux include beam/panels saws, routers, aluminum extrusion saws, custom plastics saws, custom automated machines and lines, forklifts and specialized material handling equipment, cantilever and selective pallet racking, dust collectors, air compressors, yard trucks, drill presses, pneumatic tools and a variety of small tools and equipment.
• Prescribe and participate in equipment moves, upgrades and replacements as we grow as a company.
• Participate in plant layout changes and department moves.
• Participate in fabrication projects such as custom carts, guards, racking etc.
• Participate and aid in engineering projects such as major equipment upgrades, custom in house machinery, production jigs and fixtures etc.
• Work hand in hand with management and production staff to implement improvements of all types from simple tools to solving complex operational problems.
• Assess preventative maintenance needs work with production to perform PM’s to prevent downtime.
• Understand that critical spare parts are essential to maintaining uptime.
  • Source / reorder and constantly evaluate spare parts inventory to maintain a high level of readiness.
  • Work with vendors on rebuilds and repairs and associated timelines.
  • Be willing to get creative with spare parts if necessary and do what needs to be done to keep machines running.
• Participate in and drive compliance to all safety programs.
• Communicate status of repairs/projects etc. to various stakeholders
• Source and advise outside contractors such as electricians or other repair technicians.

• Troubleshoot and identify root causes on a variety of equipment (pneumatic, electrical, mechanical)
• Ability to perform basic AC wiring installation and trouble shooting.
• Ability and understanding of three phase circuits and motor control circuits.
• Basic understanding of industrial controls (contactors, relays etc).
• Basic understanding of pneumatic systems
• Simple machining and layout
• Fabrication/welding
• Various mechanical and light electrical repairs
• Basic computer skills
• Excellent Customer service and communication
• Able to work alone or in teams
• Able to plan and execute projects small to large
• Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and machine documentation.
