Industrial Maintenance Mechanic (Food & Beverage Manufacturing)
Night Shift
OPENINGS FOR:
5:40pm-6am following a 3-2-2-3 rotational schedule- must be able to work every other weekend.
Must be flexible to train on days if necessary before going to the NIGHT shift opening.
Day Shift
In addition to the 5:40am – 6pm /
3-2-3-3 shift rotation, other schedules may be discussed
Main Duties
Must be able to perform highly diversified duties to install, repair and maintain production machines and packaging equipment.
Mechanical ability to included, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair, programming issues with all types of equipment and determine corrective action required to return equipment back to service.
Perform emergency/unscheduled repairs of production machines during production.
Perform scheduled maintenance repairs on production equipment.
Assist with product changeovers as needed.
Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
Repair and maintenance of supporting infrastructure systems (compressed air, cooling, water, HVAC, lighting etc. as needed.
Must be able to repair and maintain plant facilities including dock locks and levelers, doors, stairs, railing, floors etc.
Must be able to use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment to perform duties.
Responsible for completing required documentation for all maintenance work and report unusual situations to manager.
Ability to read, write and communicate in English to record and complete documentation.
Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work area.
Must be able to multitask and be detail oriented.
Must be able and willing to share knowledge and training with others.
Any other duties as assigned.
May train on days or nights for NIGHT Shift opening
Attendance as scheduled is an essential job function.
Requirements
Successful candidates for this position will possess a solid work ethic to produce a safe and quality product for the consuming public. A “can do” attitude to exceed customer expectations, a willingness to learn, be work focused, sense of urgency to complete work right the first time and knowledge of safe work practices.
Minimum prior experience as a mechanic of 1+ years in manufacturing industry is preferred. Prior experience in the food/beverage manufacturing industry with a familiarity of GMP's, SQF and/or HACCP is preferred. High School Diploma or GED is required. Trade school or similar work experience is a plus!
