This Opportunity
WSP is currently initiating a search for a full-time Industrial Hygienist for our Tampa, FL office. In this role you will provide technical support on a variety of industrial hygiene (IH) and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) projects.
Your Impact
+ Conducting field assignments, such as performing industrial hygiene monitoring, noise assessments, hazardous materials surveying and abatement monitoring, mold inspections and remediation monitoring, indoor air quality assessments, chemical inventory assessments, ergonomics assessments, job hazard assessments and similar assignments.
+ Assisting senior staff in conducting EHS audits and EHS program development.
+ Preparing technical reports, including documentation of field investigative procedures, data management and interpretation, and development of graphical and tabular presentation of data.
+ Preparing and submitting periodic regulatory reports.
This position requires periodic travel within the United States and internationally for work at client sites. This individual should expect to spend approximately 80% of their work time at client sites; each individual trip generally lasts 1 to 5 days for this position. This individual should be able to conduct assessments at industrial facilities, including climbing ladders, walking upstairs, and carrying field equipment. This individual will work closely with and support senior IH and EHS practitioners and project managers. Interacting with clients and regulators to meet task and budget requirements is a key to success in this position.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Ecology, Industrial Hygiene, or Safety Engineering.
+ 1-3 years of experience working as an Industrial Hygienist.
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and web-based applications.
+ Proficiency with IH sampling techniques and equipment.
+ Familiar with relevant environmental laws, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.
+ Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to a scientific and non-scientific audience.
+ Proficient self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.
+ Ability to work independently under general supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives.
+ Basic proficiency with business writing, office automation and communication software, technology, and tools.
+ Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
+ Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
+ Travel will be required depending on project-specific requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Master’s degree in Public Health, Industrial Hygiene, or Safety Engineering.
