As an Industrial Hygienist, you'll lead technical supervision on various projects with a focus on hazardous materials, industrial hygiene, safety, and indoor air quality. You'll manage and execute these assessments, provide insightful data interpretation and recommendations, and craft detailed reports and proposals. Your role also includes client interaction, opportunities to build relationships, provide quality and responsive services leading to new business development, ensuring you contribute to growth while tackling diverse and impactful projects, including microbial assessments.
Your Day-to-Day:
- Field Data Collection: Perform industrial hygiene assessment, including exposure assessment, noise exposure, mold, hazardous materials assessments and asbestos air sampling with precision. Ensure data accuracy and follow quality procedures for sample submission, evaluation, and reporting.
- Report Preparation: Oversee and coordinate the creation of detailed reports, ensuring adherence to technical standards. Review and sign off on routine daily reports and data where no technical judgment is needed.
- Proposal Preparation: Prepare draft project proposals and conduct hazardous materials assessments, ensuring thoroughness and accuracy for scope of service and budgets, to be reviewed by a Senior Reviewer.
- Business Development: Engage with local or national professional committees and support senior staff in client meetings. Initiate your own client visits and meetings to drive business growth.
- Mentoring/Training: Assist and/or train junior staff with field data collection and field observation tasks.
What You Bring:
- A Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety and Health, or other related sciences
- A Minimum of 4 years of industrial hygiene field sampling experience
- A North Carolina Asbestos Inspector and Air Monitor accreditation, a plus
- A Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP), a plus
- Excellent business and technical writing skills
Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
You are willing and able to perform the physical demands of this position with the use of Company-provided Personal Protective Equipment such as:
- Working outdoors the majority of the time in varying weather conditions
- Routinely lifting and carrying 40-50lbs, (field/laboratory samples and equipment)
