Job Summary:
- Maintains, troubleshoots, inspects, and repairs plant HVAC systems in addition to general plant maintenance. Assists other departments in projects and supports the efficient operation of mechanical systems in the plant.
Job Duties:
- Perform all work as assigned while adhering to high standards associated with safety and workmanship.
- Responsible for the safe operation of HVAC systems within the facility, particularly the production and freezer units.
- Performs Planned Maintenance (PMs) on HVAC units to minimize breakdowns.
- Communicate effectively with management on solutions to aid in efficient operation of units.
- Testing and troubleshooting of 110/230/460 volt electrical equipment including motors, starters, relays, timers, panels, breakers, fuses, conduit, and wiring.
- Able to read, interpret, and use Electrical Control Schematics for troubleshooting purposes.
- Provide a rapid response to malfunctioning equipment at any time.
- Maintain proper logs and records of planned maintenance.
- Inspect aerial lifts daily before use.
- Understands and adheres to established safety programs (lockout/tagout, ladder safety, etc.).
- Ensure that units and facility are maintained in compliance with electrical and fire regulations.
- Assist in the upkeep of the facility wherever directed by management.
- Complete work orders for general building maintenance as needed.
- Oversees and works with outside support services on large projects involving Freon units.
- Participates in Freon recovery and pump down service on units.
- Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
- Other duties as may be assigned or volunteered for.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma, or equivalent.
- Reading, writing, and basic math skills required.
- Universal recovery license.
- HVACR experience.
- Experience with Freon units/recovery required.
- Experience with Ammonia-based systems a plus.
- Welding experience a bonus.
