About the Job
Seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer to join our team in a fast-paced manufacturing fabrication shop. This individual will be responsible for analyzing and improving manufacturing processes, ensuring optimal efficiency, safety, and quality. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in process optimization, lean manufacturing principles, and the ability to work collaboratively with production, quality control, and maintenance teams to enhance productivity.
Responsibilities:• Process Optimization: Analyze and evaluate current manufacturing processes in the fab shop to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement.
• Project Management: Lead customer, continuous improvement and capital projects.
• Lean Manufacturing: Implement and support lean manufacturing principles, including 5S, Kaizen, and value stream mapping, to reduce waste and improve workflow.
• Workplace Organization: Oversee the layout of the manufacturing shop floor to ensure an efficient flow of materials, tools, and workers, minimizing unnecessary movement and maximizing space utilization.
• Quality Improvement: Collaborate with the quality control team to establish and monitor quality standards, ensuring products meet or exceed customer requirements.
• Data Analysis and Reporting: Collect and analyze data on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as cycle time, throughput, downtime, and yield rates, providing recommendations based on findings.
• Cost Reduction: Identify cost-saving opportunities in production processes and suggest improvements for material usage, labor efficiency, and equipment downtime reduction.
• Tooling and Equipment: Assist in selecting and implementing new tools, machinery, or equipment, ensuring they meet the required specifications and performance standards.
• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
• 5-10 years of experience in an industrial engineering role within a manufacturing environment (preferably in a metal fabrication shop or similar setting).
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, process optimization techniques, and statistical analysis methods.
• Familiarity with CAD software, manufacturing execution systems (MES), and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, EPICOR.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and implement effective solutions.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with diverse teams.
• Experience with safety standards and regulations in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), with strong Excel skills for data analysis.
