INDUSTRIAL ENGINEER
Summary
Work with the Operations Manager to develop and improve manufacturing processes for cost reduction initiatives, throughput improvements and eliminating waste. Provide technical leadership related to machine, and process capability and reliability.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The essential duties for this job include the following, but other duties may be assigned.
- Responsible for assisting management in the implementation of plant-wide continuous improvement objectives and will serve as a change agent who leads teams to execute projects using a variety of continuous improvement tools and Lean methodologies.
- Play a vital role in projects that will directly contribute to our company’s success
- Support the Safety Program. Provide leadership direction to subordinates in the development and practice of Safe Work Practices that are synergetic with Quality and Production requirements.
- Will work in various departments and throughout the plant
- Identify opportunities for improvements by performing ergonomic job surveys, analyzing operations, reviewing job loads, and making recommendations
- Identify improvements to work methods by reviewing the methods and analyzing potential method/design changes
- Analyze operations and create AutoCAD layouts
- Evaluate downtimes and methods to increase efficiency
- Evaluate, recommend and install new equipment and layouts
- Demonstrated leadership, persuasive, initiative, analytical, and communication skills are necessary for success in this position
- Possess a strong work ethic and an entrepreneurial spirit
- Ability to grasp modern technology
Education & Experience
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree (B.A.; B.S.) in a related discipline from a four-year college or university. (Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Technology, Engineering Technology or a related field).
EXPERIENCE: Two years’ experience in manufacturing, preferably in the food industry.
