About the Job
The Industrial Electrician is responsible for the proper operation and maintenance of all facility electrical systems. This includes, but is not limited to, routine preventive and corrective electrical maintenance, as well as documenting work performed, materials used, and supplies in our CMMS program. The role involves electrical work on systems such as Water for Injection (WFI) systems, autoclaves, HVAC systems, steam systems, high-capacity chillers, ultra-low temperature refrigeration systems, cooling towers, and liquid pumping systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergencies, utilizing resources to effectively repair and ensure the safety and availability of ADMA systems and equipment.
Independent Operations: During non-supervised shifts, oversee the continued operation of the facility, plant, and production systems. This includes the authority to start and stop equipment as necessary to maintain operations until corrective actions can be implemented. If needed, coordinate with off-duty personnel to resolve issues.
Electrical Knowledge: Apply basic knowledge of electrical system installation, operational techniques, safety compliance, instrumentation, controls, and building automation systems.
Troubleshooting and Repair: Perform complex troubleshooting and repair of process measuring devices related to weight, temperature, humidity, speed, flow, pH, and other factors.
Technical Support: Provide technical assistance during investigations of equipment or system failures.
Contractor Oversight: Oversee technical repairs performed by outside contractors on process equipment, ensuring compliance with ADMA procedures and regulatory codes.
Compliance and Safety: Perform job functions in accordance with safety, health, environmental, and governmental regulations, and ensure compliance with ADMA SOPs for facility operations. Research codes and existing ADMA procedures for conformance to regulatory standards.
Vendor and Contractor Training: Ensure outside vendors and contractors are trained in applicable ADMA procedures regarding safety, environmental, and health standards. Monitor their compliance with electrical and construction codes.
Facility Maintenance: Maintain a clean and debris-free facility.
Special Projects: Assist in special projects or construction tasks, including demolition, renovation, and new construction.
Education Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Two (2) years of technical or vocational training/certification is preferred. Equivalent experience may be substituted for technical/vocational education.
Experience Requirements:
A minimum of 10 years of industrial electrical experience in a manufacturing environment.
Working knowledge of local, state, and National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements.
Five years of experience in the pharmaceutical/medical device industry is preferred.
Knowledge of cGMPs and ISO regulatory standards.
Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) is a plus.
