Job Overview: This position is responsible for building a strong reputation for Pro Services through high performance and effective execution of electrical maintenance functions at our customer sites. The Industrial Electrician's responsibilities include monitoring and servicing electrical systems, diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical issues, running tests, completing reports, updating and improving existing electrical systems, and repairing or replacing faulty electrical components. They will act as the technical representative for Pro Services at the customer site and will be required to interact with both customer maintenance staff and maintenance leadership. This position requires a strong focus on quality and safety. The successful candidate will be required to follow all safety and company policies and actively participate in creating and maintaining a safe work environment while improving electrical operations. The position requires the ability to, work flexible shifts, and adapt to a changing work schedule. This individual should have a passion for our business, evolving technology, and a desire to improve the electrical maintenance experience for our customer base. This position will report to either a Pro Services Talen Manager and could have an additional reporting relationship with customer site maintenance leadership.
Essential Functions:
- Follow all safety and company policies and actively participate in creating a safe work environment for self and others.
- Perform and record regular preventative (routine) electrical maintenance, startups, and installation of electrical components per machine manuals and within safety regulations. Includes teaching innovative techniques and methodologies to promote best practices with trainees.
- Perform and record non-routine (break/fix) electrical maintenance. Inspect, analyze, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain all types and brands of customer electrical equipment at an expert level. Includes dismantling machines to gain access for electrical troubleshooting and repair activities. Includes teaching innovative techniques and methodologies to promote best practices with trainees.
- Stay current with advancements in the electrical field and attend workshops as required. Includes networking with industry resources to promote creative active-learning experiences.
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints and schematics to repair electrical components including wiring, circuit breakers, motors, drives, and 3-phase power systems. Includes preparing timelines for repair, and material estimates and lead times.
- Build relationships and maintain regular communications with key maintenance leadership to help ensure smooth operational workflow and maximum output are achieved on a day-to-day basis and that program goals are being met.
- Teach and supervise trainees using on-the-job training, workshop sessions, field assignments, and independent or group projects. Includes developing training materials, documenting trainee progress, providing feedback, assessing, and communicating future developmental needs to trainees and supervisory staff.
- Troubleshoot and Replace 3-Phase Components: Work with electrical systems in cabinets rated from 24V to 480V, including 3-phase Delta and Wye configurations.
- Identify Problems with and without Schematics: Utilize advanced knowledge of systems logic to diagnose issues without relying on schematics.
- Drive Troubleshooting and Diagnosis: Troubleshoot and diagnose communication issues in single motor drives and multiple motor drives to ensure optimal performance of customer drive controllers.
- PLC Ladder Logic: Connect to and understand PLC Ladder logic, identifying and correcting bugs, and making changes to inputs, outputs, and other logic as required.
- Motor Troubleshooting and Diagnostics: Diagnose and troubleshoot motor problems, with working knowledge of AC, DC, Synchronous, Induction, and Switched reluctance motors.
- Conveyor System Diagnosis: Diagnose and troubleshoot conveyor systems, including working with switches and sensors within operational environments.

- Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
- Must be physically able to climb ladders, stairs, ramps, and scaffolds and bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
- Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, squat, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery.
- Use fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
- Must be able to visually inspect machines and electrical components.
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to traverse and inspect all areas of the job site in all types of weather; this may include walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching.
- Must be able to traverse wet, slippery, unsteady, irregular, narrow, vibrating, or moving surfaces.
- Site-specific physical and safety requirements may apply.
- Ability to wear job-specific PPE is required.
Qualifications:
- HS/GED and 4+ years of hands-on electrical experience in a manufacturing or maintenance setting is required.
- Valid driver’s license.
- At least one of the following criteria is required:
- Master or Supervisor level Licensed Electrician with extensive experience in electrical systems, PLC programming, and HMI’s.
- Journeyman, equivalent, or higher in Electrical or Instrumentation and Controls.
- 4+ years of Production Maintenance with a demonstrated high level of understanding in Electrical, Instrumentation, and Controls.
- 4+ years of experience in Electro-Mechanical System Maintenance & Troubleshooting with a strong focus on electrical components including wiring, motors, drives, 3-phase power systems, and PLCs. Strong background in troubleshooting and problem-solving within automation and controls, with practical mechanical and electrical aptitude (Allen Bradley and Siemens PLCs preferred).
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing at all levels inside and outside the organization.
- Basic familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Google Suite (G Suite).
