About the Job
Under the general supervision of the AVP Indirect Lending, processes, underwrites Indirect and consumer loans in compliance with RFCU and regulatory guidelines.
Duties:
- Maintain working knowledge of loan origination system. Ensure the loan origination system is functioning smoothly and efficiently. Test and implement system upgrades, new technical processes and integrations; Provide support to end users
- Serves as the primary liaison for all technology-related items, working closely with RFCU IT department and outside vendors; Provides technical assistance regarding rates, terms, loan conditions or related matters. Maintains product and channel configurations to current loan origination system.
- Reviews all applications in need of second review. Ensures decisions and corresponding documentation is consistent and follows department underwriting standards
- Serves as the regulatory expert for Indirect/Consumer lending, maintains knowledge of and ensures departmental compliance with all regulatory, security and Credit Union policies. Ensures compliance with Federal and State regulations and Bank Policies and procedures. Establishes and reviews policies and procedures for functional area.
- Maintains business relationships with auto loan dealers. Interfaces with dealers regarding approved and rejected loans; makes recalculations when necessary
- Underwrites indirect/direct loan applications by analyzing credit reports and credit application data while adhering to all RFCU policies, procedures and regulatory requirements. Makes recommendations to management on approvals of applications over their assigned level of authority.
Requirements:
- Requires high school diploma or equivalent and seven plus (7+) years of consumer/indirect lending experience.
- Experience reviewing credit bureau reports with a solid understanding of consumer credit and applicable federal and state consumer lending regulations.
- Highly skilled in credit decisioning
- Requires excellent communication skills (oral and written).
- Technically proficient in MS Office and able to quickly learn and support digital platforms
- Strong technical skills, with the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and perform.
- Ability to make independent decisions (within scope of position) and effectively meet tight deadlines in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication skills, and attention to detail
- Ability to be flexible with work schedule, working off-hours, including weekends & holidays as needed.
