Independent Living Specialist (Bilingual Spanish) - ProMed Staffing Resources

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for all aspects of assigned caseload, including meeting with individuals and families living in supportive housing on a regular basis. Make referrals to medical, mental health and/or substance abuse services as needed. Provide clients with supportive counseling. Make regular visits to client apartments, and monitor clients to ensure a safe and secure environment. Teach and assist clients with activities of daily living. Plan and facilitate support groups. Assist with entitlements. Ensure that all clinical files and reports are complete and up to date. Assist with intake and admission process. Participate in community meetings. Provide emergency first aid/CPR assistance when needed. Related duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: BA preferred. At least four years relevant experience and HS diploma/ GED required. Experience working with the substance abuse and/or mentally ill population required. Bilingual in Spanish required. Basic computer literacy required. CPR training certification or willingness to take training class in CPR.
