Job Summary:
The Accounting Manager, Income Taxes, will be responsible for overseeing the company’s global tax provision and tax compliance processes. This role involves managing the preparation and review of tax provisions, ensuring compliance with tax regulations across multiple jurisdictions, and optimizing tax strategies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate income tax, international tax, and experience in a global business environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Tax Provision Management:
Lead the preparation and review of the company’s quarterly and annual income tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740.
Ensure accurate and timely reporting of tax liabilities in the financial statements.
Analyze the impact of tax law changes, accounting pronouncements, and other factors on the company’s tax provision.
Tax Compliance:
Oversee the preparation and filing of federal, state, and international income tax returns, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Manage the gathering and analysis of data required for tax compliance and provision calculations.
Coordinate with external advisors and auditors to ensure the accuracy and completeness of tax filings.
International Tax:
Monitor and manage the company’s global tax position, including transfer pricing, foreign tax credits, and the impact of international tax treaties.
Support the implementation of international tax strategies to optimize the company’s global tax rate.
Ensure compliance with BEPS (Base Erosion and Profit Shifting) regulations and other global tax initiatives.
Tax Planning & Strategy:
Collaborate with the Director of Tax and other finance leaders to develop and execute tax planning strategies that minimize tax liabilities and support business objectives.
Identify opportunities for tax savings and risk mitigation in the company’s global operations.
Provide guidance on the tax implications of business decisions, acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives.
Audit & Regulatory Management:
Manage tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities, ensuring timely and favorable resolutions.
Prepare documentation and support for tax positions and returns in the event of audits.
Stay current on changes in tax legislation and regulations, assessing their impact on the company and implementing necessary changes.
Team Leadership & Development:
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of tax professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
Provide training and guidance to finance and accounting teams on tax-related matters.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on tax and accounting policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA certification is required.
Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in corporate income tax, including experience with international tax.
Strong knowledge of ASC 740, tax compliance, and provision processes.
Experience in a global company or Big Four accounting firm is preferred.
Proficiency in tax software and financial systems, with advanced skills in MS Excel.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Taxation or a related field.
