About the Job
• Work with the AVP to ensure successful implementation of the enterprise-wide DEI strategy
• Lead and manage DEI employee engagement programs for the enterprise
• Manage all aspects of the Employee Resource Group program
• Manage DEI education campaigns including DEI Heritage Month events, programs and engagement
Principal Accountabilities
Enterprise Strategy
• Support the AVP of DEI on implementation on DEI strategies designed to advance the EmblemHealth family of
companies
• Manage the Employee Resource Group program for our five+ ERGs to include the operating model, governance,
metrics, succession planning, communications, event and programming, and ensuring alignment to the DEI strategy
• Collaborate with ERG executive sponsors and leadership teams; serve as their main point of contact day to day
• Partner with Strategic Communications on all ERG communications and event requests
• Manage annual ERG and inclusion impact metrics and reporting
• Ensure ERG plans are robust and aligned to business and the DEI focus areas
• Build, maintain, and enhance interdepartmental relationships to help determine the needs of departments and how
the ERGS can support action plans
• Drive initiatives that activate our DEI pillars, including the design, development, and implementation
• Assist in project management; provide technical and other needed support to AVP as needed
DEI Pipeline Programs
• Support engagement and development programs for the organization such as the DEI Speaker Series, Mentoring and
signature ERG programs
• Own cultural heritage month and inclusion milestone programming, events, and engagement
• Own Inclusion Education and Campaigns for the enterprise
• Partner with sub councils, committees and cultural ambassadors
• Collaborate with HR leadership and cross-functional teams to create and drive employee engagement initiatives such
wellness programs or Bravo, our internal recognition platform
• Support Internship and other early career initiatives from a DEI perceptive
• Identify and utilize tools designed to improve engagement metrics; analyze data to determine which engagement
techniques are succeeding and which ones need to be revamped.
• Utilize feedback on existing programs, policies, processes, and procedures to identify potential "pain points" and
opportunities
• Provide recommendations on how to build employee morale and improve engagement and retention
• Proactively mitigate any issues, staying abreast of things emerging
• Identify and analyze employee concerns, issues, and potential/actual bottlenecks that impede successful outcomes
Education, Awareness and Communications
• Partner with AVP on ongoing Listening Tours
• Collaborate with L&D to build leadership and management capability and understanding of DEI
• Serve as the liaison with Strategic Communications side of the team on all ERG needs and enterprise communication
Community and Clients
• Manage the development and execution of priority of workplace inclusion partnerships
• Serve as the liaison on client facing outreach and education
• Support Inclusion Council special projects as needed
• Co-lead Awards and Recognition plans such as Working Mother, etc.
• Partners with other stakeholder groups as needed
Communications and Visibility
• Provide support for special communications, internal events, and operational initiatives that are critical to senior
leadership as necessary; perform other tasks/projects as directed or needed.
• Attend DEI events and community partner programs
• Present on DEI topics, internal updates and at Council meetings as needed
Education, Training, Licenses, Certifications
• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Human Resources, Communication, Marketing, or related field
Relevant Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• 5 - 8+ years of relevant, professional work experience
• 4+ years of experience in work focused on internal DEI and culture work
• Health care experience or a passion for learning about the industry
• Demonstrated ability to challenge the status quo and serve as a champion of cultural competency
• Strong facilitation, presentation, written/verbal communication skills, and experience working with cross-functional teams
• Ability to problem solve and work autonomously
• Experience working in a matrix organization
• Demonstrated ability to manage time and remain agile in a high performing atmosphere
• Proven ability to effectively manage multiple tasks, projects, and priorities with competing deadlines
• Ability to forge new partnerships that bridge people and organizations
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to see the big picture as well as the small details
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and exercise sound business acumen and strategic judgement
• Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc.)
• Familiarity with social media platforms, video conferencing services, and project management software
• Strong team player, innovator, self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset
