Position: In Suite Dining Cashier
Reports to: Food and Beverage Manager
Scope of Position
The In-Suite Dining Cashier is primarily responsible for providing prompt and courteous service. He/she will have knowledge of our room service menu offerings in order to provide guests a quality in-room meal or beverage experience in a hotel environment where attention to detail is key. The In-Suite Dining Cashier will ensure the timeliness and service delivery of every meal.
Position Requirements
- Professional demeanor appropriate for a resort environment.
- Previous food and beverage experience in a hotel environment preferred.
- Knowledge of Micros or other Point of Sale (POS) systems.
- Must be of minimum legal age to serve alcohol according to state law.
- Food handling certificate & TIPS (Training for Intervention Procedures) certificate an asset.
- Knowledge of food and wine an asset.
- Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective at listening, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by guests.
Responsibilities
- Answer telephones using appropriate etiquette.
- Take all guests' room service orders.
- Answer questions on menu selections and check on item availability with kitchen Associates.
- Make appropriate suggestions of food and beverages (employs suggestive selling and up selling technique).
- Notify guests and management of delays in service delivery.
- Communicate additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen.
- Know ingredients, preparation, and proper presentation of all menu items and specials and ensure that every product delivered to the guest adheres to the highest quality possible.
- Record transaction in POS system at time of order.
- Complete closing reports and process all payment methods.
- Ensure proper details about the order and pricing/delivery times are communicated to the Kitchen and servers according to hotel standards.
- Check outgoing orders for quality and accuracy of set up.
- Deliver food and beverage items in a timely and accurate manner.
Education
- High school diploma or GED
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to communicate in the English language. Second language is a plus.
- Able to work flexible schedules including holidays and weekends and able to perform multiple tasks.
- Knowledge of basic food handling policies and procedures as well as the techniques and equipment for preparing and presenting food products for consumption, including storage/handling techniques, proper chemical handling, and sanitation standards.
Physical Requirements
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, be physically fit in order to lift, pull and push items up to 50 pounds.
- Requires standing/walking/reaching and bending throughout shift.

Must understand and adhere to the property service standards, as well as grooming and uniform standards specific to this position, always maintaining a neat and clean appearance. Adherence to any OSHA (safety) practices and wear any assigned PPE (personal protective equipment) as needed.
