Job Title: In-Kind Donations Coordinator
Department: Facilities
Reports To: Animal Care Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Pay Rate: $16.00 Hourly
SUMMARY
The In-Kind Donations Coordinator oversees all aspects of receiving, sorting, organizing, and dispersing in-kind donations, working independently and with volunteers. Identifies unusable items and coordinates transfer to other agencies or disposal. Responsible for training and overseeing volunteers in all in-kind donation processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Collect, sort, organize, and disperse in-kind donations daily.
- Determine donations to be allocated to each department.
- Coordinate with managers to organize/inventory donated items for their departments.
- Determine unusable items and coordinate pickup by partner non-profits; act as liaison for these partnerships.
- Primary point of contact for external agencies, groups, and individuals donating items.
- Determine suitability of donations for intended use and dispose of unusable items.
- Assist with donation pickups and drop offs, as needed.
- Train and oversee individual and group volunteers on all in-kind donation processes.
- Communicate regularly with Volunteer Program Manager to ensure volunteers are effectively and efficiently utilized.
- Develop and maintain respectful, collaborative working relationships with all staff organization wide.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.

- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good interpersonal and analytical skills.
- Ability to work both week and weekend days, during normal business hours.
- Ability to deal tactfully with the public and provide accurate information and instruction at all times.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience with training staff and/or volunteers
- Thrift store experience or previous experience in sorting large volumes of donations
- Possess valid driver license with driving record acceptable to be insured by our carrier
- Bilingual, a plus
