As the In-House Construction Estimator, you will be at the heart of our project development process. You'll analyze architectural plans, design specifications, and material lists to create detailed and accurate cost estimates for our residential projects. You will collaborate closely with the director of construction, project managers and design teams to ensure every aspect of our projects is accounted for and completed to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze architectural plans, design books, and material lists to develop accurate project estimates.
- Prepare detailed cost proposals for large-scale remodels and new builds.
- Communicate effectively with subcontractors to gather competitive bids and negotiate pricing.
- Collaborate with project managers and design teams to ensure project requirements are met.
- Maintain organized records of estimates, bids, and project documentation.
- Deliver at least 3-5 comprehensive proposals per week, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and construction methods to enhance estimating accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a construction estimator, with a focus on residential and commercial projects.
- Strong understanding of architectural plans, interior design principles, and construction materials.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build solid relationships with subcontractors.
- Proficiency in estimating software and tools. (Buildertrend)
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple proposals simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- A degree in construction management, architecture, or a related field is preferred, but hands-on experience as an Estimator is considered more valuable than formal education.
- Proficiency in Excel and or Google Sheets.
