Requirements & Skills:
- Must possess a Bachelor of Science in Nursing or Associates Degree or Diploma from anNationalLeagueforNurses(NLN) accredited
- Have been actively practicing as a registered nurse in an acute or long-term setting for at least thelasttwo years.
- Must be knowledgeable of the nursing care needs of patients as it relates to medical/surgical
- Mustdemonstrateknowledgeoftheprinciplesofwoundpreventionof
- HaveandmaintaincurrentBasicCardiacLifeSupport(BCLS)andAdvancedCardiacLifeSupport(ACLS) certification.
Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assesspatientpostopmedsanddevelopssoundplanofcarebasedon
- ProvideIVcarebasedonmedicalcenter
- Performaccu-checks.
- Recognize and respond to emergency situations to include Code Blue (cardiac arrest); CodeWhite(aggressivepatients); CodeRed (fire);CodeBlack (disaster).
- Appropriatelyassesstheneedforsafetydevicesandutilizessameinaccordancewith
- Provide patient health education to patients and families with regard to current treatment, healthissues,andpatient/familyconcernsinaccordancewiththeeducationallevelofthepatient/family.
- Comply with documentation standards. Administers medications in accordance with medicalcenterpoliciesviaC.M.A.
- Provideguidancetoparaprofessionalandnonprofessional
- Be able to care for patients withdrawing from alcohol, responding to significant symptoms andmaintainingpatient safetyduring
- Direct care of the patient in restraints, assessing for physical needs i.e., nutrition, hydration,toileting,andrangeof motion
