Image Scientist - TRIAEM, LLC

Position: Image Scientist 

Location: NCE – Springfield, VA or Valley Forge, PA

Clearance: Must hold an active TS/SCI

If you have this experience:

TRIAEM is seeking a motivated IMAGE SCIENTIST to provide imagery science expertise supporting product quality and utility assessments of data collected with commercial imaging sensor constellations. The candidate should have a working knowledge of and experience with commercial imaging sensors to include:

• Commercial EO (i.e. video and/or multi-sensor systems operating throughout the visible and infrared portions of the electro-magnetic spectrum)
• Commercial Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR)
• Commercial Hyperspectral (HSI)

Candidate should have an understanding of both operational and emerging commercial sensor constellations and the unique spectral, spatial, and temporal capabilities they provide. This includes constellations leveraging small satellites, space-based, airborne, and/or ground based sensors. The candidate will work within an existing team to complete tasks as prioritized by government customers. Good communication and team work is necessary. A history of delivering results is critical to success.

Required Experience/Education:

• Bachelor or advanced degree in Image Science, Optics, Engineering, or Applied Physics
• 5-10 years of experience in image processing, digital signal processing experience, or remote sensing
• Image chain analysis to include atmospheric modeling, signal quality and noise, optics, detector calibration, and image processing of pixel data
• Applied knowledge of sensor imaging systems, products, data formats, and exploitation processes
• Strong written and oral communication skills, with emphasis on briefing to obtain decisions and solve technical issues and test plans/reports writing
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a dynamic work environment
• Track record of delivering results

Preferred Skillset:

• Knowledge of tasking, collection, processing, exploitation and dissemination (TCPED) image chains
• Understanding and application of image quality standards (e.g. NIIRS), scales, metrics and image quality equations
• Experience or educational background with COTS image software (Remote View, Socet GXP, ENVI, Erdas, or similar)
• Experience developing engineering code (C, Python, Matlab, IDL) to solve hard problems and create processes for repeatable results.
