I. Job Summary
Supports the business; including manual labor associated with chemical handling, lab pack duties, drum movements within the facility, drum bulking, drum crushing, industrial cleaning duties, confined space entry, assisting when extra personnel are needed, and other duties as assigned. This is a mid-level, non-supervisory position focused on hazardous and non-hazardous waste related projects.
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.
Ensures waste types are properly segregated, regulatory shipment windows are met, proper container labeling is adhered to, good housekeeping is maintained and accurate tracking logs are kept.
Identifies best practices that assist customers in reducing waste volumes, increasing operational efficiencies, identifying optimal equipment usage and generating cost savings.
Segregates, labels, marks and packages and prepares shipping documents for waste materials in a safe and compliant manner.
Collects, pours, transfers, consolidates, repackages and packages solid, liquid & sludge material.
Performs labor intensive activities such as container or drum collection, drum bulking, sorting trash for recyclables, confined space entry, pressure washer operation, air mover hose, and loading of trucks.
Transfers waste into containers of different size.
May provide support or direction to less experienced Technicians.
Wears required personal protective equipment.
Participates and cooperates in safety process, including following written procedures, attending required training and scheduled meetings.
Immediately reports any unsafe conditions, incidents, injuries or property damage to supervisor.
Maintains compliance with applicable environmental, safety and transportation regulations (EPA, OSHA, and DOT).
Maintains a minimal amount of manifest errors
Maintains a minimal amount of repacks.

The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.
A. Education and Experience
Education: High school diploma or GED (accredited).
Experience: Two (2) years of relevant work experience (in addition to education requirement).
B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements
Valid Drivers License
40 Hour HazWoper Certification
C. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required
Ability to perform tasks in inclement weather
Ability to perform work in Confined Spaces while wearing chemical protective clothing and respiratory protection

The salary range for this position is $17.50 - $27.58 per hour. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location.
