About The Position
ID: 51893045 Shift: 1845-0715 Description: Additional Information: Position Description: 1. General job duties. Types of procedures required.Professional caregiver responsible and accountable for his/her practice for assigned patient(s). Utilizing the nursing process, the RN delivers superb health care in a compassionate manner, is committed to excellence and empowered to streamline and improve operations. Will be working in all Critical Care units and floated through out as needed. 2. Equipment utilized in the unit/dept. (Is there computerized charting, medication systems, etc.)EPIC medical record,B. Braun pumps, Avea ventilators, Gemstar epidural, Edwards and Phillips patient monitoring, Omnicell medication dispense.3. Required skills and minimum years of experience.2 years minimum critical care experience, post heart cath recovery and patient management, post op day 1 open heart surgery patient management, experience with long term ventilated patients, experience with swan ganz catheters, and vasoactive medication titration. TEA, Triple A and general surgery patient management. Travelers will not get fresh heart patients. 4. Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required. (ARRT, CRT, BLS, ACLS, etc)Oregon License, BLS, ACLS5. Shift or schedule requirements. (Will the employee ever work alone? Is call required? If so, how often? Are weekends required?)12 hour shifts, every other weekend (may need to work consecutive weekends to accommodate requested time off)Scheduled call is not required, but can be put on mandatory stand by due to low census for their regularly scheduled shift.6. Floating to over units/departments. (If so, to which units/departments?)Will float to ICU, IMCU, CVICU, ED first and then Medical Surgical, telemetry, post surgical, ortho neuro, and BHURN Union Contract states traveler or agency nurses float prior to regularly employed staff. Traveler RN may float to any floor. If they float to med-surg, they are there as a resource nurse and may take a reduced assignment.7. Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/dept.CVICU: 20, ICU 22, IMCU 168. Nurse to patient ratio of this unit. (nursing only)1:1, 1:2 in ICU and CVICU, 1:3 in IMCUEach shift has CNA/US, MT, unencumbered charge RN, and Break RN(s) as staffing allows9. Dress scrub top and bottoms - any colors. No visible tattoos on the neck or above. No facial piercings10. Tell us about the unit/department specific training and orientation program.18 hours critical care orientation ICU, IMCU and CVICUAdditional read Asante Email weekly as this is the primary means of communication.ICU has been designated a Gold Beacon award winner. CVICU has been designated a Silver Beacon award winner. There is support for education provided (2 RN educators) and travelers have said Asante is "rich with resources" for learning and growing in their career.Excessive absences ( 3) may be subject to termination.Comments: Primary Unit will be CVICU/ICU; floated to other units as needed Will be asked to float as needed OR RN license required for starting; Will request temp license if needed36-hours guaranteed. 48-hour guarantee can be requested; OT billed after 48 hours 12 hours non-billable orientation for first work weekGuaranteed hours will not apply during orientation24 hours non-billable customer call off per 13 weeks.
