The In-Circuit Test Technician will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing ADTRAN production units to the component level.
- Troubleshoot and repair printed circuit board assembly units down to the individual component level.
- Interpret printed ICT failure tickets as a guide and reference towards troubleshooting and repairing printed circuit board assembly units.
- Utilize work process sheets with schematics, photos, and written/verbal instructions as well as personal judgment based on specialized knowledge to troubleshoot, and repair printed circuit board assembly units per ADTRAN procedures.
- Understand the set-up, operation, and functionality of ICT Equipment -- Teradyne and GenRad -- that is used.
- Verify ICT failure tickets and determine cause, whether set-up error, process error, component error, etc.
- May perform minor touch-ups and/or repairs for PTH and SMT components.
- Ensure workmanship and quality of product.
- Work on multiple and varied assignments and be able to recognize and indicate where any deviation from accepted practices is required.
- Prompt and regular attendance is required in order to ensure quality workflow.
- Other duties as requested in order to ensure 100% quality, accuracy, and product verification.
Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree in Applied Electronics (or related field).
- Position requires 1-5 years' experience in extensive troubleshooting and debugging digital electronic circuits required.
- Candidates must be available to work weekend shift Friday - Sunday 6:00am - 6:00pm
- Applicant must be proficient in the use and operation of computers and computer-based test equipment as well as standard bench top equipment such as a Digital Multimeter (DMM), oscilloscope and frequency generator. Must be able to read and interpret schematics.
- Applicant must be qualified and self-motivated.

- Communication: Applicant must possess both oral and written skills to communicate with supervisors, co-workers, and to comprehend written and verbal instructions.
- Computer: Applicant must have basic Microsoft Office skills and be able to learn Word, Excel, Access, AEGIS, Fusion, and BaaN Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.
- Assembly and Inspection: Applicant must possess the ability to perform the necessary actions to assemble and inspect ADTRAN products to ensure quality performance; including knowledge and application of Q50 and IPC-A-610 quality standards. The applicant must pay close attention to detail while working in a high-volume, fast moving, quality oriented, and high-stress environment.
- Initiative: Applicant must be self-motivated and be able to work as a team member in a continuous improvement environment.
- Technical Ability: The applicant must be familiar with Data Communications Interfaces, Microprocessors, and Microcontrollers. Applicant must be proficient in the use and operation of computers and computer based test equipment as well as standard bench top equipment such as a Digital Multimeter (DMM), oscilloscope, frequency generator, and Bit Error Rate Tester (BERT).
- The applicant must have experience removing and replacing PTH components (resistors, capacitors, diodes, integrated circuits, transistors, switches, fuses, connectors, transformers, inductors, LED's) and SMT components (discrete components, gullwing and J Lead components). Must have experience identifying common component and soldering defects, including the proper use of flux and PCB cleaning.
