Job Title: IBM Maximo System Administrator
Job Type: Full-Time
Job Summary: Seeking a skilled and dedicated IBM Maximo System Administrator to join the NASA ACITS4 team. The ideal candidate will have 5 to 7 years of experience in system administration, reporting, and configuration within IBM Maximo Asset Management. This role will involve supporting the system’s configuration, change management, release management, and ensuring the system's performance, reliability, and security. The candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to define and implement KPIs, manage system workflows, maintain application security, and oversee data management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain the IBM Maximo Asset Management system, ensuring its reliability, security, and optimal performance.
- Configure and manage n-tiered applications, including application testing, change management, and release management.
- Update and optimize workflows, procedures, and documentation, as necessary.
- Manage user access by administering security groups, roles, and accounts within the Maximo system.
- Archive and oversee data management, ensuring system data remains organized and accessible.
- Support the definition, implementation, and tracking of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for system effectiveness.
- Ensure all system changes, including patches and emergency maintenance, are controlled, documented, and compliant with established procedures.
- Maintain and update user documentation and procedures for each release of the Maximo system.
- Oversee and ensure adherence to security protocols and policies for authentication, authorization, and server configuration.
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans based on organizational and Agency standards.
- Define roles, responsibilities, entry/exit criteria, and fallback/backout strategies for system updates and changes.
- Support production, quality, test, and development environments by ensuring they are properly maintained and aligned with organizational goals.
- Implement and execute upgrades and updates in accordance with the established change management process.
- Independently test system changes before deployment to production environments to ensure functionality and performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 5 to 7 years of hands-on experience in IBM Maximo Asset Management system administration, configuration, and reporting.
- Strong experience in configuration and change management, release management, application management (n-tiered), and application testing.
- Proficient in managing application security, user roles, and accounts.
- Thorough understanding of Maximo's interoperability, performance, scalability, and lifecycle management.
- Familiarity with NASA and Center-specific policies for authentication, authorization, security, and server configuration.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with system performance monitoring and tuning.
- Experience with IBM Maximo integrations and interoperability with other enterprise systems.
- Knowledge of ITIL processes and best practices.
- Familiarity with agile or DevOps methodologies.
