Audubon is currently seeking a I E Construction Superintendent to join our team in our Off Site Office. The I E Construction Superintendent will will report to the Director of E I Construction. The ideal candidate administers, supervises, and coordinates all field construction performed by E I craftsman and/or subcontractors. The candidate will ensure all electrical/ instrument construction activities are carried out as per contract requirements.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES- Be familiar with and capable of using most economic construction methods, tools, and equipment developed for use by craft(s).
- Participate in the planning and scheduling of all work under supervision and coordinate work with minimum interference to or from other activities.
- Make work assignments and assure completion of work in accordance with established plans and schedules.
- Assist in review and analysis of cost reports as required.
- Requisition, schedule, and assign construction equipment and tools used by craft, supervise their correct use, maintenance and security.
- Be completely familiar with all contracts with subcontractors working under his/her supervision.
- Know the Scope of Work of each subcontractor working under his/her supervision.
- Advise Project Manager of potential claims by subcontractors working under his/her supervision.
- Ensure that the subcontractor has sufficient manpower and equipment to complete the work scheduled for each work period.
- Advise Project Manager of any slippages from previous programming.
- Be familiar with and capable of interpreting plans, specifications and subcontract requirements pertaining to work performed under his/her jurisdiction.
- Supervise and coordinate direct hire electricians, instrument fitters, and instrument technicians performing assigned work on the project.
- Perform material take offs, solicit quotes, and purchase all required materials.
- Manage certification documentation.
- MUST be proficient in Microsoft Office Suites.
- Read and Interpret drawings and P ID's.
- Understand specifications; Identify materials against specifications.
- Strong safety leadership qualities.
- Excellent trade and industry knowledge. Excellent Trades leadership qualities.
- TX Journeyman electrician license or a journeyman license from a reciprocating state.
- Texas Master Electrician License preferred but not required.
- 15+ years experience in industrial E I (electrical instrumentation) construction. At least 5 of these years should be in a supervisory capacity.
- Strong background in leadership / management / supervision roles in the craft industry.
- Must be willing to travel and be assigned full-time on site to projects throughout the U.S..
- Electrical and/or instrumentation construction and/or engineering education (trade school, associates, bachelors, etc.) preferred but not required.
- Estimating experience preferred but not required.
- Scheduling experience with P6 (Primavera 6) or MS Project scheduling software preferred but not required).
