Join the Energy Northwest team as we complete our 27th refueling outage at Columbia Generating Station.
Scheduled Duration: 56 Days
Outage Start Date: April 11, 2025
Hire Dates: March 3-31, 2025, unless otherwise specified
Work Hour During Outage: Generally, six 12-hour shifts per week (straight nights or straight days)
Overtime: Significant overtime pay, often with 20+ hours per week paid at double (2x) the hourly rate of pay
Income Taxes: Washington does not have state income taxes
Unemployment: Washington unemployment benefits are generally available following the end of assignment
GENERAL SUMMARY
This is a temporary position supporting the plant’s biennial refueling outage.
Responsible for installation, maintenance, repair, and calibration of plant and test instrumentation related to operation of large nuclear generation plants.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
+ Perform surveillance tests and calibration of critical and non critical instrumentation (e.g., power range monitoring systems, control rod drive multiplexing systems, pressure instruments, measurement and test equipment, and reactor simulator).
+ Troubleshoot and repair process instrumentation used to monitor and control flow, radiation, temperature, pressure, power level, etc., including both pneumatic and electronic types.
+ Assist in initial system lineup, calibration, pre-operational testing and startup testing of installed systems.
+ Assist assigned supervision in the preparation of tooling and spare parts requirements, computer listing of instrumentation and spares, preparation of instructions, and establishing a preventive maintenance program.
+ Maintain auxiliary instruments and instrumentation systems (e.g., assigned computers, air conditioning controls).
+ Perform other tasks as required
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Journeyman classification requires a minimum of five years of experience in instrumentation and controls. A minimum of two years of this five years of experience should be related technical training. A maximum of four years of the five years of experience may be fulfilled by related technical or academic training. High school diploma or GED required.
(For outage work only) At least five years applicable experience. Experience is applicable if it has been with instrumentation and controls in an industrial and/or commercial laboratory setting. A high school diploma or GED is required.
This position is open until filled.
This is a bargaining unit position and the hourly pay rate is:
$62.38
Pay In Lieu of Benefits Amount:
$1.50
