About the Job
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for the coordination of daily activities related to intake assessment and referral of individuals seeking mental health services.
Provides telephone screenings, initial clinical assessment, communicates findings of initial assessment to physician, secures admission orders
from physician and/or makes referrals to appropriate level of care, provides insurance pre-certification when indicated, follows up with referral
sources and collects statistical data for departmental outcome studies.
EDUCATION
Must have completed an educational program and have earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, C ounseling, Psychology, (and or other
Health Related fields) or possess WV licensure as a registered nurse.
Initial and continuing education as required by discipline.
LICENSURE
None required.
EXPERIENCE
Prior experience in crisis intervention (preferred).
Preferred experience in working with the mentally ill/chemical dependency population.
Preferred experience with the geriatric population.
Preferred experience in crisis intervention and must be familiar with the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Illness 4th edition, revised.
(DSM 5).
Strong organizational and customer service skills as demonstrated by prior work experience preferred.

COMPUTER/TYPING/MATH SKILLS
Must have basic knowledge of computer skills so that the employee can effectively receive training on the hospital computer system.

Must be able to work scheduled hours as dictated by business needs including flexing up and down to volume demand.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force
