Description 

--Field work with daily travel within the water district

-Collect and analyze hydrographic data to determine trends in movement and utilization of water

-Calculate seepage and evaporation rates for dams and reservoirs

-Measure snow characteristics to evaluate water yield from snow runoff

-Install, calibrate and maintain metering instruments

-Work directly with unit members on water orders and release dates

-Calculate water usage, and monitoring storage levels in banked reserves

-Organize and keep accurate records of usage, data entry and mathematical calculations

Requirements 

 -AS degree or higher in areas of hydrography, environmental science, geology or natural resources management

-Strong mathematical skills and understanding required

-Ability to accurately enter data both manually and electronically

-Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills

-Physical aptitude and endurance required to walk long distances and rugged terrains

-Ability to exert force and or lift and or carry items weighing 25 lbs-100lbs regularly

-Capacity to endure all weather elements throughout all 4 seasons

-Able to be “on-call” on a rotating basis (compensated by compensatory time off)

-Mechanical inclination with ability to handle and run small hand tools and power tools

-Occasional but rare, overnight travel in outdoor setting

-Must have clean DMV and insurability
