Job Details
Review and prepare financial statements and reports, reclass bank, loan and credit card transactions, prepare and post journal entries, ensure timely and accurate reporting, compliance with appropriate accounting methods for multiple small business clients
Review and prepare year-end workpapers for tax preparation
Bank and credit card account reconciliations
Accounts Payable review
Accounts Receivables review
Review accounting processes and recommend changes as needed
Establish standard operating procedures for clients’ internal accountants
Mentor and assist accounting staff, including external accounting staff of clients’
Ability to manage time and multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Excellent knowledge of computer software applications including programs and software utilized by the firm. (QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, MS Office, Paychex, QuickBooks Bank Feeds)
Prepare and review sales tax returns and prepayments, business licenses, business property tax statements, 1099s and other tax reports
Ability to work independently and effectively manage multiple responsibilities
Lead and train new bookkeepers on company policies and procedures and other relevant information related to the position
Requirements
A minimum of five (5) years’ experience as a Senior Bookkeeper
Relevant coursework and/or Bachelor’s degree preferred
Experience working with a variety of small businesses preferred
