Responsibilities:
1. Overseeing the preparation and analysis of financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
2. Conducting thorough reviews of financial data, forecast reports, and accounting operations.
3. Providing strategic financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making processes.
4. Streamlining accounting functions and operations to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
5. Developing and implementing effective financial strategies, controls, systems, and procedures.
6. Ensuring all accounting activities align with the financial laws and regulations.
7. Managing the preparation and submission of all tax returns and other statutory filings.
8. Collaborating with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance.
9. Interacting with various departments to gather data and streamline operations.
10. Training, mentoring, and providing guidance to junior accounting staff.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
1. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Advanced degree or professional certification such as a CPA is required.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or a related field, with proven experience as a senior accountant.
3. Extensive knowledge of accounting principles, procedures, and legislation.
4. Proficient in accounting software and MS Office (especially Excel).
5. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
6. Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
7. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks and projects.
8. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
9. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
10. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
11. Ability to work in a hybrid work environment, both remotely and on-site as required.
