A real estate and property management group based in Austin is looking to add a Property Accountant to its growing team. This position is onsite out of their office in Austin, TX (78701). The ideal candidate will have experience with Yardi, commercial properties, and CAM recs. and property accounting.

this position requires 3 days in the office and 2 work-from-home days.

We are currently seeking a dynamic and highly-motivated Permanent Property Accountant with a focus on Commercial Sales. This position offers a unique opportunity to be part of a fast-paced and rapidly growing team, where you will play a critical role in driving our business forward. As a Property Accountant, you will be responsible for managing the financial performance and operations of a portfolio of commercial properties. You will also be involved in the preparation of financial reports, budgeting, forecasting, and CAM reconciliations. This position is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned accounting professional who is looking to take their career to the next level in the commercial real estate industry.

Responsibilities:

Oversee all aspects of accounting and financial management for a portfolio of commercial properties.
Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
Conduct CAM reconciliations and ensure accuracy and compliance with lease agreements.
Assist with budget preparation and financial forecasting for properties.
Collaborate with property managers to optimize financial performance and operational efficiency.
Maintain and update tenant ledgers and rent rolls.
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as applicable laws and regulations.
Participate in the audit process, liaise with external auditors, and assist with the preparation of audit materials.
Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial real estate accounting, preferably with a focus on sales.
Proficiency in CAM reconciliations and a deep understanding of commercial lease agreements.
Experience in managing financial operations of shopping centers is a plus.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
High level of integrity and professionalism.
Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
