Responsibilities:
1. Assist attorneys in all aspects of plaintiff litigation, including business and commercial litigation, construction defect litigation, and insurance recovery.
2. Draft, review, and file legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and briefs.
3. Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis to support case preparation and strategy development.
4. Manage and maintain case files, calendars, and docketing systems to ensure timely filing of documents.
5. Schedule inspections, coordinate depositions, and prepare for hearings.
6. Perform cite checking and proofreading of all court submissions to ensure accuracy and compliance with court rules and procedures.
7. Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and team members.
8. Utilize logical software and other legal technology tools to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
9. Participate in team meetings and strategy sessions, providing valuable input and feedback.
10. Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when handling sensitive information.
Qualifications:
1. Minimum of 3 years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in plaintiff litigation and insurance recovery.
2. Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Law or related field.
3. Advanced knowledge of legal principles, practices, and terminology.
4. Proficiency in calendaring, docketing, and legal research.
5. Experience with legal document preparation, including pleadings and motions.
6. Familiarity with the procedures and protocols of court hearings and depositions.
7. Proficiency in using legal software such as Logical.
8. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
9. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
10. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
11. Commitment to professional ethics and client confidentiality.
12. Paralegal certification is preferred but not required.
