Are you a seasoned paralegal with a knack for litigation? Do you possess a unique blend of skills such as proficiency in "(ISC)2", calendar management, knowledge of Lexis and Westlaw, cite-checking, bluebook, shepardizing, and deposition preparation? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you. We are seeking a Permanent Hybrid Litigation Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. The successful candidate will be involved in a variety of tasks including pre-and post-trail briefs, drafting pleadings, legal document preparation, and trial preparation. This position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Hybrid Litigation Paralegal, you will be responsible for:
1. Assisting attorneys in all stages of litigation matters, from inception through appeal.
2. Conducting legal research using tools such as Lexis and Westlaw, and providing accurate and timely information to the legal team.
3. Managing and organizing case documents, including drafting pleadings, discovery responses, and other legal documents.
4. Preparing for and attending depositions, mediations, and trials.
5. Cite-checking legal documents and ensuring they comply with the bluebook citation system.
6. Utilizing the "(ISC)2" system and calendar tools to manage deadlines and ensure timely completion of tasks.
7. Preparing pre-and post-trail briefs and managing the pretrial and post-trail litigation process.
8. Shepardizing case law to ensure the validity of legal arguments and precedents.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, you must have:
1. A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
2. Paralegal Certification from an accredited institution.
3. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a litigation paralegal.
4. Strong knowledge of the pretrial and post-trail litigation process.
5. Proven experience in drafting pleadings and preparing legal documents.
6. Proficiency in using legal research tools such as Lexis and Westlaw.
7. Familiarity with the bluebook citation system and experience in cite-checking.
8. Experience in preparing for and attending depositions.
9. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage calendars and deadlines effectively.
10. Proficiency in using "(ISC)2" or a similar system.
