Hybrid Designer, Childrenswear - Pyramid Consulting Group, LLC

Our client, a children’s clothing brand, is hiring a Designer - Childrenswear to join their team in NYC on a hybrid schedule (4 days in office). Candidates must be prepared to provide a portfolio of work.

Job Duties Include:

• Collaborate with team to create new concepts and make edits to lines as needed
• Create sketches for development packages
• Manage design process from conception to execution
• Identify new trends and fabrics as inspiration
• Present designs, samples, color boards, etc. to management
• Design and develop girls' apparel, focusing on mix-and-match pieces including bodysuits, tees, and shorts
• Collaborate with graphic designers and artists to create prints and designs, ensuring alignment with the brand's aesthetic
• Fit garments and provide detailed feedback on silhouettes
• Manage at least one direct report, providing guidance and mentorship.
• Work cross-functionally with other teams to ensure cohesive product lines
• Maintain knowledge of market trends and help merchandise the lines effectively

Job Qualifications Include:

• Bachelor's degree in Girls Apparel Design or related field
• 5+ years of experience in kids' apparel design, ideally in girls' wear
• Proven experience managing at least one direct report
• Proficiency in PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems
• Strong understanding of market trends and ability to merchandise lines
• Experience in designing mix-and-match sets
• Ability to work under pressure and directly interface with the EVP
• Excellent communication skills
• Background in infant/toddler apparel design is ideal
• Experience with high volume of product
• A creative thinker with an understanding that things have to go together
• Experience with merchandising
• Ability to think strategically

Salary: $90k - $100k
