Business Analyst

[Contract Length]: 2 years
[Location]: South Plainfield, NJ
[Work Setup]: Hybrid- 3 in office, 2 out- flexibility on which days

We are seeking a skilled Business Analyst to join our team and play a crucial role in monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing our financial operations. The ideal Business Analyst candidate will have a strong background in finance and excel at providing valuable insights to drive informed decision-making.

Business Analyst Responsibilities:

• Monitor, trend, and track Capital and O&M budgets, assisting line management in managing annual budgets and expenditures
• Analyze and project expenditures, identifying impacts to budget plans
• Prepare and run financial reports and analytics for departments and senior management
• Work closely with department managers to forecast monthly risks, opportunities, and timing
• Compile and analyze financial reports to identify discrepancies requiring management's attention
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings
• Assist in the development of the 5-year long-range budget plan
• Process accruals and journal entries for the month-end close process
• Participate in an Emergency Response Team

Business Analyst Qualifications:

Required:

• BS/BA degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field (or 6 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree)
• Minimum 2 years of finance or relevant experience
• Proficiency in Excel and financial software
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to meet Nuclear's requirements for unescorted site access

Desired:

• SAP experience
• 5 years of related finance, budgeting, or cost analysis experience
