A well-known CPA firm that specializes in managing the accounting for Entertainment and Sports Clients across the U.S. is seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Bookkeeper! This position is an integral part of the team, responsible for maintaining accurate books on accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and daily financial entries and reconciliations. You will also be responsible for executing month-end close procedures, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations.

This position requires prior experience working for a sports and/or entertainment CPA firm.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

Manage all aspects of day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting processes including but not limited to: A/P, A/R, payroll, journal entries, and bank reconciliations.
Execute month-end close procedures and deliverables (journal entries, reconciliations, reports) in compliance with GAAP.
Analyze and report on financial status including income statement variances, communicating financial results to management, budget preparation, and development.
Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions, maintaining policies and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP and other applicable laws and regulations.
Oversee client invoicing and collections, vendor payments, and cash management.
Collaborate with the sales team to ensure accurate and timely sales commission calculations and payments.
Assist with tax audits and tax returns.
Support the CFO with ad-hoc projects as necessary.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Minimum of 1 year of related experience as a Bookkeeper or similar role.
Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles.
Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel, and familiarity with relevant accounting software.
Excellent data entry skills along with a knack for numbers.
Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software.
Proficiency in English and in MS Office.
Customer service orientation and negotiation skills.
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information.
