The Accountant – Regional Financial Accounting will be responsible for carrying out the financial accounting activities of the company as developed by the Chief Accounting Officer, Controller and Corporate Directors – Regional Financial Accounting. Responsibilities include assisting with the execution of policies and procedures required to maintain compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) as well as assisting with the preparation of financial statements with a focus on ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of reporting.

Senior Accountant should have the following:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited four-year college or university.
Hold a minimum of 2 years of experience in public accounting, a combination of public accounting and industry experience, or progressive industry experience.
Previous experience with Oracle-based products, such as JD Edwards and/or Essbase, is advantageous.
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat (PDF).
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills, enabling effective work both independently and within a team.
Outstanding problem-solving, analytical, and time management abilities.
Exhibit confidence in seeking clarification and asking questions, maintain a positive attitude, and possess a strong work ethic.
Exceptionally organized and detail-oriented, with the capacity to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated dependability, honesty, and integrity.

Job Details

Compile weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial accounting entries for designated regional properties to ensure adherence to closing schedules.
Prepare reconciliations for general ledger accounts as assigned by the Corporate Manager – Regional Financial Accounting.
Collaborate with other shared service functions to guarantee accurate and timely transaction postings.
Foster relationships and act as a liaison with park operating associates to ensure that operational activities are accurately reflected in the financial statements.
Uphold and enforce compliance with professional accounting standards and best practices in accordance with GAAP.
Ensure strict adherence by company associates to internal control processes, policies, and procedures.
Provide accounting information and documentation to both internal and external auditors upon request.
Assist in the recruitment and/or training of seasonal and part-time financial accounting staff.
Contribute to the development of all members of the shared accounting services team through ongoing training and the maintenance of strong associate relationships.
