We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Staff Accountant to join our vibrant Finance team. This role is critical to our organization, offering an opportunity to showcase your skills in analyzing financial data, making journal entries, managing the general ledger, and performing account reconciliations. The ideal candidate will be a problem solver who can efficiently resolve payment issues, prepare sales tax returns, manage expense accounts, and perform 1099 preparations. This role also involves handling expense reimbursements and conducting variance analysis. If you are a seasoned professional with a minimum of 5+ years of experience and a passion for financial accuracy, we would love to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
1. Analyzing financial data and preparing monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
2. Preparing and posting journal entries to the general ledger.
3. Conducting account reconciliations and GL reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
4. Resolving payment issues in a timely and accurate manner.
5. Preparing, filing, and managing sales tax returns.
6. Managing and maintaining the company's expense account.
7. Preparing and filing 1099 forms for the company.
8. Processing expense reimbursements for employees.
9. Conducting variance analysis to identify and explain deviations from budgeted amounts.
10. Collaborating with various departments to understand and ensure accuracy of financial results and expectations.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
3. In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
4. Proficiency in analyzing financial data and preparing financial reports.
5. Strong experience in preparing and posting journal entries.
6. Proven experience in performing account reconciliations and resolving payment issues.
7. Experience in preparing sales tax returns and managing expense accounts.
8. Proficiency in preparing 1099 forms.
9. Experience in processing expense reimbursements.
10. Strong skills in variance analysis.
11. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
12. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and accounting software.
13. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
14. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
15. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred but not required.
