Title: HVAC Technician
Location: Indian Head, Maryland (client will offer relo reimbursement)
Salary: $65,000 - $110,000
Clearance: Secret Cleared OR clearable and willing to obtain secret (program can hold up to TS)
Day to Day:
- Install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, and cooling units
- Diagnose and repair electronic, mechanical, and electrical components of these systems
- Preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair to a variety of commercial HVAC systems, chillers, boilers, water source heat pumps, cooling towers, package rooftops, split systems, controls, pumps, VAVs
- Support the full life cycle of small-scale projects from initial concept design through project completion
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on facilities and equipment, including HVAC, electrical, digital controls, and other mechanical systems
- Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with facilities and equipment and repair or replace defective parts as needed
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests
- Conduct site visits to document existing facility conditions and develop new requirements
- Prepare technical memoranda/reports to document facility conditions and project status
- Ensure that all facilities are in compliance with applicable codes and regulations
- Maintain accurate records related to maintenance activities and administrative tasks, including work orders, preventive maintenance schedules, equipment inventory, and time sheets
Must Haves:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience without a license or certification OR 2 years of experience if licensed/certified
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in facilities maintenance, engineering, or a related field preferred
- Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Refrigerant Reclamation and Recovery Certification
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and blueprints
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other mechanical systems
- Be familiar with a wide range of equipment and troubleshooting techniques
- Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) required
- Familiarity with state and local building codes, OSHA regulations, and NFPA standards is a plus
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Must currently hold or be able to obtain a Department of Defense Secret-level security clearance
- Work may be performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g., fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals)
