Title: HVAC Technician

Location: Indian Head, Maryland (client will offer relo reimbursement)

Salary: $65,000 - $110,000

Clearance: Secret Cleared OR clearable and willing to obtain secret (program can hold up to TS)

Day to Day:

1. Install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, and cooling units
2. Diagnose and repair electronic, mechanical, and electrical components of these systems
3. Preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair to a variety of commercial HVAC systems, chillers, boilers, water source heat pumps, cooling towers, package rooftops, split systems, controls, pumps, VAVs
4. Support the full life cycle of small-scale projects from initial concept design through project completion
5. Perform routine maintenance tasks on facilities and equipment, including HVAC, electrical, digital controls, and other mechanical systems
6. Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with facilities and equipment and repair or replace defective parts as needed
7. Respond to emergency maintenance requests
8. Conduct site visits to document existing facility conditions and develop new requirements
9. Prepare technical memoranda/reports to document facility conditions and project status
10. Ensure that all facilities are in compliance with applicable codes and regulations
11. Maintain accurate records related to maintenance activities and administrative tasks, including work orders, preventive maintenance schedules, equipment inventory, and time sheets

Must Haves:

1. Minimum of 5 years of experience without a license or certification OR 2 years of experience if licensed/certified
2. High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in facilities maintenance, engineering, or a related field preferred
3. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Refrigerant Reclamation and Recovery Certification
4. Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and blueprints
5. Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other mechanical systems
6. Be familiar with a wide range of equipment and troubleshooting techniques
7. Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) required
8. Familiarity with state and local building codes, OSHA regulations, and NFPA standards is a plus
9. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
10. Must currently hold or be able to obtain a Department of Defense Secret-level security clearance
11. Work may be performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g., fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals)
