About the Job
Position Purpose: All KHI employees are expected to perform their respective tasks and duties in such a way that supports KHI’s vision to be among the kindest, highest quality health systems in the country. Inspects, installs, repairs, and replaces HVAC systems. Able to troubleshoot, install, repair or/and maintain specialty systems including refrigeration units or other comparable equipment. Strong working knowledge of building automation systems and air balance relationships.

• Complete work orders in a timely manner, order parts if necessary and coordinate repairs

• Works flexible shifts based on business needs
• Responsible for serving on Fire Brigade and Hazmat Team

Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent Licensure:
Valid US Driver’s License (Must be 21 years of age or older)
Experience Minimum 7 years’ experience in residential, commercial, or industrial HVAC experience. Refrigerant certification.
Skills and KnowledgeHVAC:
• Advanced knowledge of hand and machine tools.
• Advanced knowledge of HVAC repairs, installation, troubleshooting and maintenance procedures.
• Advanced Knowledge IT Controls and building management system operation.
• Effective personal customer relations skills.
• Effective communication abilities.
• High level of self-reliance and discipline to accomplish time sensitive job or projects
• Serves as on-call contact for after hours.
Preferences (Preferred attributes for the position which are not absolutely required in the minimum qualifications (i.e., multilingual, master’s degree)) Special Position Requirements (Optional section: any travel, security, risk, hazard or related special conditions which apply to the position) Bloodborne diseases exposure category: Category II Other potential hazards: • Asbestos • Formaldehyde • Ethylene oxide • Freon • Nuclear pharmaceuticals • Mercury Work Requirements (Optional section: work requirements for physical or other important issues which relate to the job) • Must be able to squeeze with hands 75psi. • 90% 100% of the time incumbent is standing, bending, stooping, kneeling and reaching, in the daily functions of duties. • Must be able to climb ladder several times per day. • Must be able to lift 50 to 70 pounds. • Must have good sense of smell to distinguish potentially hazardous materials.
