HVAC Service Technician - California Heating

California Heating in Arcata, California is actively seeking motivated individuals to fill our immediate need for Service Technicians. This is a full-time position where your talents will be used to diagnose and repair a multitude of HVAC challenges with furnaces, heat pumps, boilers, air handling equipment, and exhaust fans for planned maintenance and unscheduled emergency service calls to residential, commercial, and institutional customers. Currently, we have only two (2) openings.

Our Service Technicians operate on a 40-hour flexible schedule Monday-Saturday 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. to accommodate our customer base. California Heating offers a competitive wage of $25 to $40 per hour (DOE), plus performance pay, and prevailing wage work. With the continual advancement of HVAC technologies and code changes, California Heating believes strongly in continuing education for our service technicians to keep up with the skills needed to succeed. We provide a computer tablet for on-the-job and continuing education, and a fully stocked van for service technician use.

California Heating also provides a minimum of 80 hours of company-paid training per year – (some travel may be required).

QUALIFICATIONS FOR HVAC SERVICE TECHNICIAN2+ years documented experience or equivalent accredited Trade School training.

• 4+ years of field experience
• Valid driver's license plus a good driving record
• Knowledge of equipment functions for various HVAC apparatus
• Proper assessment, diagnosis, and repair skills
• Understanding of Flu Gas Analysis
  
• EPA 608, OSHA 10, NATE certifications, or Journeyman experience are a plus.
• Excellent customer interface skills and ability to communicate details is also a plus.
