About the Job
Overview:
As an HVAC/R Field Service Engineer at Hussmann, you'll serve as the primary liaison between customers and various departments, ensuring that products meet quality, budget, and schedule requirements. You'll collaborate with internal teams and contractors to support project execution and process improvements, including handling NTD, NPD, and COD requests.
Responsibilities:- Manage customer onboarding, project startups, and new product releases
- Provide technical expertise on refrigeration controls to minimize customer risk during installation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals, identify root causes, and resolve issues
- Support field quality, process improvements, and oversee complex product builds
- Conduct audits at customer sites to identify improvement opportunities
- Train peers and technicians in controls startup and functionality
- Manage individual utilization and communicate effectively with managers
- Document findings and escalate issues as needed
Must have advanced industry knowledge and understanding of complex refrigeration systems and systems controllers.
Minimum High School Diploma, Technical Degree and/or Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- 7+ years in HVAC/R or related field with advanced knowledge of refrigeration systems, electrical controls, and field project management
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Experience with cross-functional team facilitation and complex customer startups
- Ability to travel up to 30% to customer and manufacturing sites
