Your Mission: To provide a safe and attractive living environment for campus residents. Repairs and maintains machinery, plumbing, mechanical equipment, electrical systems and all HVAC/refrigeration equipment in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operating manuals and manufacturer specifications.

Key Responsibilities:
- Installs, operates, and maintains heating, air conditioning, refrigeration systems, commercial kitchen equipment, energy management systems, chillers, water cooling towers, and boilers; conducts regular preventive maintenance inspections and makes necessary adjustments or repairs.
- Repairs or replaces defective parts in units and equipment including a variety of controls and systems. Work with high and low voltage electric and communication systems including nurse call, fence detection, CO2 exhaust fan systems, door entry panels, and fire alarm systems.
- Installs, repairs, and maintains plumbing with various water systems as necessary; plumbing of refrigeration and air conditioning systems; flushes boilers, de-scales equipment; rebuilds water pumps assembles. Understands and monitors correct cooling tower and fluid cooler chemical levels.
- Perform rounds and inspections on mechanical equipment including but not limited to chillers, boilers, pumps, electric motors, cooling towers, generators, water meters, etc. to identify and correct potential problems before they arise.
- Receives and completes work orders; prepares and researches cost estimates for projects; orders materials and parts in accordance with established procedures.
- Observes and complies with relevant federal, state, and local building codes; follows safe work practices and procedures; ensures proper safety precautions are observed.
- Maintains a variety of records of completed work, including blueprints, sketches, diagrams, and logs.
- Operates a variety of hand and power tools, including specific HVAC tools utilized in the trades for diagnostics and troubleshooting. Includes light-to-medium duty lift equipment, such as vehicles, boom lifts, and equipment lifts.
- Must be able to lift and move 50 pounds; must have the physical dexterity to use all tools and equipment required for the job; ability to work on top of a ladder, above grid ceilings, and on rooftops as the job requires.
- Responsible for curbing the use of outside vendors. Unless justified as situationally necessary for immediate life safety reasons, repairs to systems critical to the operation of the facilities at Sun Health will be completed internally by staff with 1:1 guidance by the mentor. The knowledge and experience shared in these situations will serve to empower staff while enhancing Sun Health culture by promoting unity and a harmonious working environment. Every new project/situation should be viewed as an opportunity to upgrade the team's skills.
- Responds to emergencies, security, fire, and disaster calls.
- Performs related duties and responsibilities as required.
Your Qualifications:
- Electro-mechanical training at a traditional or vocational program is preferred.
- A minimum one year of experience as an HVAC technician, maintenance, and repair experience required.
- Experience with fully automated central plants and four pipe systems is preferred.
- EPA 608 Certification - minimum requirement of a Type I and Type II, Universal is preferred.
- Possess current or have the ability to obtain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card is required.
- Ability to work from sketches, plans, drawings, blueprints and specifications; ability to effectively present information and convey knowledge and understanding.
- Ability to work with high voltage (460volts) electricity and equipment to troubleshoot and complete repairs.
- An understanding of chemical balancing for cooling towers and closed looped systems.
- Ability to be vaccinated against flu and COVID-19 or obtain an approved exemption.
