Heartland Heating & Cooling in Grimes, IA is seeking a highly motivated and experienced HVAC Licensed Journeyman to join our team. As an HVAC Installer at Heartland Heating & Cooling, you will play a critical role in providing top-notch service and installation to our valued builders and customers. We are looking for someone with a great attitude that can jump in and help get the job done. Must have a good driving record, HVAC experience and we do require a pre-employment physical and drug test.

We do primarily new construction residential installs, new construction commercial installs and tenant finishes as well as residential service & replacements. We work with a variety of builders on projects ranging from single family starter homes to custom elaborate homes, to multifamily buildings and larger hotels.
Starting salary Range: $20.00-$32.00 per hour depending on experience
Position is full-time. Schedule is Monday-Friday

Responsibilities:
- Install various commercial, residential and Industrial HVAC systems sometimes in confined or high places. Including duct work, gas lines, pvc venting, etc.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure projects are completed in a timely manner
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain a professional attitude at all times
- Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe work environment
- Stay up-to-date on the latest industry trends and technologies
- Work closely with all other workers and supervisors while maintaining a polite professional attitude
- Arrive on time and ready to work with a positive attitude.
- Adhere to codes, OSHA standards and all safety and handbook policies. Including maintaining and organizing company vehicles and property in good working order.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license and insurable driving record
- HVAC journeyman license
- Proven experience as an HVAC Installer
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must be Authorized to Work in the US
- Pass pre-employment physical & drug screen
The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation. Physical Requirements & work environment include:
- While performing duties of this position, employees are required to walk, balance on feet, stoop, squat, bend, climb, reach above head, crawl, talk, hear and drive company vehicles. Must be able to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
- Must have the necessary physical stamina; to include, but not limited to, long-term overhead HVAC work.
- Must be able to lift overhead up to 25 lbs. several times per week. If lifting more than 75 lbs.-request assistance.
- Must be comfortable working in tight spaces for an extended period of time in crawl spaces and attics.
- Must be able to work for extended hours or work days
- Must be careful during work to avoid injury (squatting, bending, ladders and stair safety, etc.)
- Specific vision abilities needed include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- Must be able to work with powered construction tools (electric snips, sawzall, drills etc.)
- Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.
- While performing the duties of this position employees will be exposed to various weather conditions including inclement weather including wet and/or humid conditions, extreme heat and extreme cold temperatures.
- Occasional exposure to loud noise level environments.
