HVAC- SR. PROJECT MANAGER/ESTIMATOR POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Project Manager at Comfort Systems of Montana is responsible for organizing, directing, and coordinating manpower, equipment & material procurement, tools, and supply needs to achieve project objectives. This role involves managing the administrative aspects of all commercial contracts, including change orders, coding, billing and expenses, and collections. The Senior Project Manager/Estimator ensures project compliance with all operational, financial, and legal requirements and is also responsible for estimating and overseeing all commercial HVAC bids and business development. Mentoring, coaching and role duplication with the Project Management team.

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Project Analysis and Estimation:
- Bid Identification and Creation: Identify potential bid opportunities and create competitive yet profitable bids. Utilize estimating software (Fast Duct) to enhance the precision of these bids.
- Scope Assessment: Analyze project plans and specifications to define scope and complexities.
- Estimation Accuracy: Ensure estimates reflect the actual contract amount and enhance accuracy by calculating precise take-offs.
- Performance Metrics: Utilize Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track and optimize estimation accuracy and budget compliance.
Contract Management:
- Contractual Oversight: Manage all aspects of contracts, including comprehensive understanding, risk mitigation through strategic negotiations, and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
- Schedule Coordination: Collaborate with contractors to review and adjust the project schedule before contract finalization to ensure compliance and resolve discrepancies.
- Financial Structuring: Establish and manage a Schedule of Values (SOV) based on the contract to streamline project billing.
Operational Execution:
- Resource Coordination: Calculate and coordinate manpower, integrating this into the SOV. Manage logistics for project-related equipment and supplies, ensuring timely availability.
- Submittal Management: Assemble, submit, and manage the approval process for submittals, making necessary modifications based on feedback.
Sales and Relationship Management:
- Lead Generation: Build and maintain relationships with general contractors to generate leads and increase revenue.
- Negotiation: Handle negotiations for purchasing approved equipment, ensuring alignment with budget and bid amounts.
Project Monitoring and Reporting:
- Manpower Tracking: Conduct daily tracking of manpower on the jobsite, ensuring compliance with assigned tasks and phases.
- Progress Reporting: Monitor project progress, identify potential issues that could impact timelines or budgets, and develop mitigation strategies.
Leadership and Team Development:
- Team Leadership: Oversee and mentor a team of project managers, enhancing their project management skills and ensuring successful project outcomes.
- Workload Management: Monitor project schedules and overall workload to optimize the volume of projects necessary to achieve revenue and profit goals.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree and minimum of [4] years of experience in project management within the HVAC industry, with significant experience in estimating and bid management.
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, project management principles, and commercial bid preparation.
- Proficient in project management software and tools.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents and contracts.
PAY & BENEFITS:
- Pay $85,000 -$95,000 DOE base salary plus department incentives and bonuses based on revenue and profit targets.
