About the Job
Our client is seeking a highly skilled HVAC CAD Operator to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating and modifying detailed HVAC system designs and layouts using computer-aided design (CAD) software. The ideal candidate will have experience working with HVAC systems, be proficient in CAD software, and have a keen eye for accuracy and detail.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and Drafting:
- Create detailed HVAC system drawings, including ductwork, piping, and equipment layouts.
- Ensure designs comply with project specifications, codes, and regulations.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with engineers and project managers to understand project requirements and modify designs as needed.
- Review and incorporate feedback from clients and other stakeholders into design revisions.
Quality Control:
- Perform detailed checks of CAD drawings for accuracy, completeness, and conformity to standards.
- Coordinate with field technicians to ensure designs are feasible for installation.
System Coordination:
- Assist in coordinating HVAC systems with other building systems (electrical, plumbing, structural).
- Ensure that HVAC systems integrate smoothly into the overall building design.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain up-to-date records of drawings and revisions.
- Prepare and submit design documents and progress reports to management.
Qualifications:
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate’s degree or certification in CAD drafting, HVAC technology, or a related field preferred.
Experience:
- 2+ years of experience working as a CAD operator, specifically with HVAC systems.
- Experience using CAD software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar programs.
Skills:
- Proficiency in CAD software for HVAC system design.
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, components, and installation practices.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
