Job Description Summary:
The HV Project Engineer is responsible for overall design of HV projects/operation resulting in successful project execution.

Position Responsibilities and Duties:
- Review Power Purchase Agreements, Generator Interconnection Agreements, Utility Interconnection requirements, Contract requirements, System Impact Studies, Facility Studies,
- Provide direction to engineer of record with coordination between interconnecting utility, and owner's engineers.
- Provide QA/QC Review of Project Drawings and Documentation.
- Develop Material Specifications
- Develop detailed BOM.
- Assist with Vendor selection at Procurement (Verifying Specs are met and make recommendations)
- Be able to Approve Vendor Drawings
- Develop Energization Plans
- Assist with Functional Testing Witness
- Participate in Energization Coordination Meeting
- Write Energization Plan for Backfeed/Initial Synchronization/Startup
- Create Substation Safety Calendars
- Provide Substation Energization support
- PV Energization Support/Initial Synchronization
- Participate in team meetings/calls on a regular basis, and take meeting minutes.
- Work with Procurement team to specify main circuit equipment for procurement, review vendor quotes for technical details, and support approval drawing process.
- Demonstrate and maintain a safe work environment and direct safe work practices in energized substations.

- Maintain flexibility in availability due to 24/7 operations.
- Regular travel (local and inter-state) required.
- Complete other responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Skills or Experience Requirements:
- Minimum 1-4 years of work related experience in design and/or construction of power substations
- Licensed Professional Engineer preferred NFPA 70e "Qualified Person" preferred, skilled with knowledge related to the construction and operation of the electrical equipment and installation and has received safety training on the hazards involved
- Field construction management experience preferred.
- Have a strong understanding of scope, and ability to review technical design independently.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills to work with others under all situations
- Ability to work, analyze, troubleshoot and prioritize problems independently
- Strong knowledge of dispatching methods, techniques, and practices
- Flexible schedule due to 24/7 operations
- Effective written and verbal English communication skills
- Proficiency and knowledgeable in office practices, procedures and equipment
- Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize and coordinate
