Overview:
Under the direction of the Director of Administration and Finance, manages the day-to-day operations and performs duties in all areas of the HR office. The specialist carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: employment, recruitment, organizational development, payroll, and other administrative duties as assigned.

- Assist in managing the professional development, seminars, tuition reimbursement, travel, and professional dues request and reimbursement process - ensuring necessary documentation is completed accurately, submitted with proper approvals, and adheres to overall agency policies and procedures.
- Coaches managers and employees on a variety of employee matters, including performance management, and conducts employee investigations to ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
- Assists with additional human resource training initiatives as needed, including performance management planning, harassment prevention, team building, and other programs.
- Assist with coordinating special projects on behalf of the Director of Administration and Finance, such as the annual residency certification process, Statement of Financial Interest, and any other HR initiatives.
- Prepare and verify periodic payroll, including bi-weekly department time summary reports, confirmation and maintenance of timesheets, and other tasks related to payroll.
- Protect the interests of employees and the company in accordance with company Human Resources policies and government laws and regulations.
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
- Work requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent related experience plus a minimum of three (3) years of full-time or equivalent part-time experience in human resources, clerical, office administration, or related fields. An associate's degree may be substituted for one (1) year of required experience, and a bachelor’s degree may be substituted for two (2) years of the required experience.
- Must have technical knowledge and experience with various Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), including iCIMS.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite is preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
- Exemplary organizational and project management skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously critical.
- The ability to prioritize, multi-task, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment is essential.
- Must have experience with and the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
