About Hudson House

As we continue to grow, we’re looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Human Resources Recruiter to join our team. This role will play a key part in attracting and onboarding top talent for our expanding Hudson House restaurant locations, ensuring a smooth and efficient recruitment process, and supporting a positive team culture across all Hudson House locations.
The Hudson House Human Resources Recruiter will lead the recruiting efforts for new restaurant openings, assist in talent acquisition for Manager-level positions, and contribute to employee relations initiatives. This position will focus on sourcing, screening and hiring top candidates while ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations. The recruiter will also play an active role in employee relations, supporting the HR Team with handling any issues and conducting investigations when necessary.
In addition, this role requires participation in the Hudson House Manager-in-Training (MIT) program, which provides foundational training in restaurant operations and prepares the Hudson House Human Resources Recruiter to take on responsibilities upon completion of the program.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment and Onboarding
- Lead the recruiting process for new Hudson House restaurant openings by determining staffing needs, posting job ads and sourcing candidates
- Manage and update job postings across various platforms, ensuring they are aligned with the company’s branding and hiring goals
- Coordinate and facilitate new hire orientations, ensuring all required paperwork is completed accurately and on time without exceptions
- Assist in recruiting for Manager level positions under the direction of the VP of Human Resources, including participating in interviews, sourcing candidates and developing strong relationships with potential hires
- Support the Hospitality School recruitment and relationship-building efforts, ensuring we attract qualified and passionate candidates for management roles
Employee Relations and Compliance
- Assist with addressing and resolving employee relations issues by conducting investigations, gathering facts and providing recommendations and guidance to the Operations team
- Collaborate with restaurant leadership to ensure compliance with labor laws, company policies and regulatory requirements
- Support restaurant level compliance audits as needed, ensuring that all HR documentation is up-to-date and in compliance with state and federal law regulations
- Provide ongoing guidance and support to restaurant managers and team regarding HR related matters
Training and Development
- Complete the 6 week Hudson House Manager-in-Training (MIT) program to gain comprehensive knowledge of Hudson House operations, leadership styles and the restaurant business
- Gain hands-on experience in the restaurant environment to better understand the needs of the business and improve recruitment strategies
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven experience in recruiting, preferably within the hospitality or restaurant industry
- Strong understanding of the full recruitment cycle, including sourcing, interviewing and onboarding
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with candidates and internal teams
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of HR systems (such as ADP, Harri or similar HRIS platforms) is a plus
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
- Flexible schedule with the ability to work evenings and weekends as needed

Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or similar field of study strongly preferred
- Trustworthy, detail-obsessed and genuine love for hospitality
- Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal
- Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus

Location: Hudson House Restaurants (with one day at the VHG Corporate Office)
Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday (Sunday and Monday off), with flexibility to work evenings as needed and travel as needed for restaurant openings
